We decided one Friday that we wanted to go camping so at the drop of a hat we grabbed all our camping gear and loaded up the car and headed off to Detroit lake for a little family trip. This was Texas's second camping trip and Lizzy's first. We knew it would be a lot of fun. On the way we picked up my Sister Summer and her husband Darek. We got to the camping spot around 9 pm and had to use the spot lights on top of Summer and Darek's car to light everything up so we could set up camp. We hung around the fire and had smore's (of course) and visited for a bit. When it came time for bed Texas really did not want to go. Screaming at the top of his lungs " No bed, I too dirty." and a few more assortment of excuses to get him out of sleep.
The next day was a lot of fun. We had french toast cooked over a fire. (the best way ever!) then headed of to the lake to explore and skip rocks. It was very muddy and wet so of course the kids were having a blast getting filthy. They were sliding down the muddy hill on their butts and climbing stumps and throwing rocks. Every kids dream. Can't wait to do it again. We Love camping.
